KIRK THEIGE

In his four-decade career, Mr. Theige, a seasoned world traveler and business owner thriving amidst high-risk landscapes sans corporate safety nets. In the early stages, driven by a primal instinct for self-preservation, he leaned heavily on instinct and ingenuity to meticulously devise personal protection strategies, encompassing comprehensive risk and threat assessments.. Operating amidst remote and perilous terrains, he encountered and adeptly managed security intricacies including the harrowing specters of homicide, kidnappings, extortion, and the intricate choreography of clandestine large-scale cash movements, thus nurturing a resilient security ethos.

These firsthand encounters served as the crucible for his adept formulation and execution of executive protection strategies. Through keen observation and experiential learning, he discerned not merely an opportunity but an imperative for a specialized security service. Thus, in 2009, he laid the cornerstone for Spartan Security International, which included site security, access control, and the intricate realms of security engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).

MATT MATHEWS

Mr. Mathews began his 40 plus year career in law enforcement, both in local police forces and county sheriff departments. Leaving LE for private contracting, Mr. Mathews spent time with G. Gordon Liddy’s Corporate Security and Private Investigation company in Miami during the cocaine-cowboy days of the 80’s. His training there encompassed hostage negotiation and counter-terrorism, surveillance, self-defense, intelligence and counter-intelligence. Which lead to various international assignments. When the Twin Towers fell, Mr. Mathews a licensed airplane pilot, went to the middle east (Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt) as a paramilitary contractor (PMC) focusing on transportation logistics, security planning, and developing specialized security teams. Through his LE & PMC experience and in some cases, the simultaneous and continued training in undercover work, surveillance, and surveillance detection, he developed the skill sets to swiftly assess situations, make confident and logical decisions, and contribute positively to organizational objectives through a strategic perspective.

The paradox of preventative security is the effectiveness of preventive security measures is often gauged by the absence of negative events. In an ideal scenario, a successful security system means that potential threats are deterred or neutralized before they escalate into incidents. Consequently, this absence of security breaches or incidents makes it challenging to quantitatively measure the success of these measures. This predicament often leads to the question, "If nothing ever happens, why do we need such stringent security measures?" The challenge lies in conveying the importance of a proactive approach to security and emphasizing that the lack of visible incidents is, in fact, a sign of the security system functioning as intended. It requires a shift in perception, recognizing that the goal of preventative security is precisely to create a safe environment by preemptively addressing potential risks. Communicating the value of peace of mind and the ability to go about daily activities without fear becomes crucial in justifying the necessity of effective preventive security measures.
